If you aren’t planning to participate in the Polk City Four Seasons Festival 5k and 8k races on Saturday July 21st, we’re in need of 20-25 volunteers to help with various race related duties. We will need helpers for 2-3 hour shifts on race weekend with an afternoon shift beginning at 4:30pm Friday (4-6 volunteers) and morning shifts beginning 6:30 am Saturday (15-20 volunteers). If you are nice and like being around people, you’ll be a great volunteer for this event.
We received positive feedback the past two years about the reversed course finishing down Broadway so we’re sticking with it. However, this means more volunteers are needed to keep the intersections safe for the runners.
If you are interested, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org confirming by Friday, June 15th so we can begin building our volunteer roster. Please include the following info:
- Preferred assignment, if any (see below)
- Name(s) of volunteers
- Cell phone number(s)
Volunteering will include tasks such as race registration/packet pick up, pointing runners in the right direction on the course, helping the Polk City PD and FD manage intersections, directing runners to the water/food tables after the race, cutting timing chips from shoes, and helping Mark make sure the kids race is a fun and safe event. Keep in mind that we have a number of jobs that are great for high school students needing volunteer hours.
Finally, if you have friends or family who would be interested in helping, please pass this along. We appreciate your help!
